Psychological Services

Dr. Jill Robinson provides a variety of services including assessments, therapy, and consultation. See below for more information.

Assessment and Diagnosis

Dr. Robinson provides diagnostic mental health (e.g., OCD, anxiety, depression, etc.), personality (e.g., borderline, avoidant, etc.), and general psychosocial assessment. She also has experience providing assessments for veterans and police members. A psychodiagnostic assessment is a type of specialized assessment that is used to determine whether someone's mental health symptoms match the specific criteria for any mental disorder, including disorders related to psychosis, mood, anxiety, trauma, impulse control, substance use, and personality.

Mental health psychological assessment and diagnosis with Dr. Jill Robinson involve a comprehensive process where she gathers detailed information about your emotional, cognitive, and behavioural functioning. This typically begins with a clinical interview to understand your history and current concerns, followed by the use of standardized tests to assess specific areas like mood, personality, or specific symptoms. Dr. Robinson may also observe behaviour and collaborate with other professionals as needed. Based on this information, a diagnosis may or may not be made based on the frequency of symptoms and how much they interfere with your day to day functioning. A diagnosis can help to produce tailored treatment recommendations. This process helps clarify concerns, identify the most effective interventions, and track progress over time. Dr. Robinson’s goal is to ensure a thorough, accurate understanding of your mental health to provide personalized support and treatment recommendations in a compassionate and confidential setting.

She works collaboratively with clients to develop achievable therapy goals that produce sustainable, positive changes in behaviours, thinking patterns, and emotions.

Dr. Robinson believes in tailoring therapy to each unique individual. She draws from evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy.
